On May 5, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev of Kyrgyzstan, who was in China for an official visit.
Wang Yi expressed that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors, good partners and good friends. Since the establishment of China-Kyrgyzstan diplomatic relationship 25 years ago, bilateral relations have always maintained a healthy and stable development. At present, bilateral strategic partnership has enjoyed a sound development momentum, with increasingly deepened political mutual trust, continuous expansion of practical cooperation, and further consolidation of traditional friendship. President Xi Jinping and President Almazbek Atambayev held talks in Beijing at the beginning of this year, injecting new impetus into bilateral relations. China is willing to, together with Kyrgyzstan, constantly increase mutual support, comprehensively deepen practical cooperation in various fields by taking the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” as the mainline, enhance cooperation in security and anti-terrorism, and effectively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.
Erlan Abdyldaev noted that the Kyrgyz side regards China as a priority of its diplomacy, and firmly supports China in hosting the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The country will actively participate in the “Belt and Road” construction, and further deepen cooperation with China in all fields, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results as well as common development.
