Iran's petchem exports reach 5.57 bln USD in six months

Iran's exports of petrochemical and polymer products in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-Sept. 22) reached 5.57 billion U.S. dollars, Financial Tribune daily reported on Tuesday.

The figure shows a rise of 1.2 billion U.S. dollars compared to the same period of last year.

Iran's exports of the products are expected to register a new annual record in terms of value by March, the report said.

According to the official data, Iran earned a total of 9.55 billion U.S. dollars in revenues from petrochemical exports last year.

Iran's petrochemical exports are mainly bound for India, China and South Korea, and the country is gaining more ground in Africa and Europe.

Besides, domestic market share of petrochemical and polymer products registered seven percent rise in terms of volume and 12 percent increase in terms of value during the six months period, the report added.
