WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- U.S. retailer Walmart plans to introduce new technologies in order to give its shoppers a better checkout experience this year's holiday season, the company said on Tuesday.

The company will switch on a new function called "check out with me" on Nov. 1, allowing customers to pay at the exact location where the goods were stacked up.

By paying at Walmart associates in the busiest areas of the stores, the shoppers will receive a paper or electronic receipt for their purchase, helping them to bypass the regular waiting lines.

In addition, Walmart said it will provide a map for each store on its mobile app, helping shoppers to find their favorite items faster and easier.

This will also be the first U.S. holiday season during which customers can shop on Walmart's new website. The new website will introduce curated and editorial content, helping shoppers to discovery what they need easier.

Moreover, the company said that its customers can receive free, two-day shipping on millions of items from marketplace sellers without a membership fee.

"The new site, combined with thousands of new brands, curated holiday solutions, and our free, two-day shipping as well as pickup offerings, will make it that much easier for customers to shop Walmart.com this holiday season," said Scott Hilton, chief revenue officer of Walmart eCommerce U.S.
