MADRID, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Spanish share values rose by 0.03 percent on Monday with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 opening at 8,812.90 points and closing at 8,815.50 points.
Shares in 17 of the 35 companies on the Ibex-35 went up in price, while the shares of 18 companies lost value during the day.
The day's best results were for media company Mediaset with a 3.61 percent rise in share prices. Shares in cellulose and collagen producer Viscofan went up by 2.60 percent, while the share price of steel producer Acerinox climbed by 1.67 percent.
The worst performing company was cellulose and clean energy producer ENCE Energia y Celulosa, of which share prices fell by 4.93 percent. Shares in savings bank Bankia went down by 4.33 percent, while shares in the Melia Hotels International group lost 0.72 percent of their value. Enditem
