LONDON, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.11 percent, or 78.97 points, to close at 7,203.97 points.
Burberry Group, a British luxury fashion company, soared 4.50 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. NMC Health and Flutter Entertainment increased by 4.09 percent and 3.89 percent, respectively.
Phoenix Group Holdings, a life insurance and pension funds services provider, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.43 percent.
