Dollar recovers to near 106 yen line after hitting 3-year low on trade concerns

TOKYO, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar sank to 104.46 yen in early deals in Tokyo on Monday, marking its lowest level in about three years.

In later trade, the dollar recovered to near the 106 yen line and was quoted at 105.73-75 yen at 5 p.m. compared with 105.30-40 yen in New York and 106.64-65 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.

During the day, it tracked between 104.46 yen and 105.95 yen, trading most often at the 105.25 yen mark.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1120-1124 dollars and 117.58-62 yen against 1.1138-1148 dollars and 117.39-49 yen in New York, and 1.1069-1070 dollars and 118.04-08 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
