TOKYO, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended losses Monday morning as investors sold tech issues that had advanced recently to lock in profits after their subpar earnings reports released recently.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 119.95 points, or 0.55 percent, from Friday to 21,538.20.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 7.02 points, or 0.45 percent, at 1,564.50.
Electric appliance, rubber product and metal product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
