The government of Indonesia plans to strengthen cyber security across the country, Chief Security Minister Wiranto said on Friday.

With 132 million Internet users in the country, Wiranto said coordination must be conducted among the government's institutions and ministries in protecting cyber world.

In the near future, the government would establish an agency, known as BSSN, with mission of carrying out the coordination, he added.

"Should the cyber security be done by each of them, it could be overlapped. But (under coordination) it will be a stronger power," Wiranto said at the State Palace.

The plan to establish the BSSN soon is urgent and it has been reported to President Joko Widodo, he said.

Indonesia has struggled to stop militants from using cyber space in carrying out their suicide missions in the country.
