TOKYO, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened marginally lower Thursday, despite a solid lead from Wall Street overnight as 10-year Treasury yields held steady after hitting a three-year low and a comparatively soft yen, as investor jitters remained over global trade issues.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 28.97 points, or 0.14 percent, from Wednesday to 20,450.45.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 1.88 points, or 0.13 percent, at 1,488.47.
Service, rubber product and precision instrument-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
