TOKYO, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday with technology issues coming under early pressure following similar issues losing ground on Wall Street at the end of last week.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 58.66 points, or 0.28 percent, from Friday to 21,058.23.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 5.18 points, or 0.33 percent, at 1,541.53.

Nonferrous metal, electric appliance and machinery-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
