Qatar has provided assistance valued 2.4 billion U.S. dollars for Syria since the start of the gulf crisis, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Thursday.
Qatari Foreign Ministry's Secretary General, Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, revealed the figure while addressing the 11th meeting of top Syria donors held in Doha.
He highlighted the countries that have provided appropriate conditions and made fruitful efforts to help the refugees.
After the gulf dispute erupted in June, Qatar organized a third coordination meeting to support the Syrian people, which resulted in pledges of 80.5 million dollars, and launched initiatives in the areas of education, al-Hammadi said.
The Syria donors group was established following the Second International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria in Kuwait in 2014, which aims to establish a platform for major donors to discuss issues related to ensuring disbursement of pledges and strengthen humanitarian dialogue among donors.
