German shares edge down Wednesday

FRANKFURT, June 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged dwon on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 40.13 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 12,115.68 points.

European health care company Fresenius SE lost 3.12 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement, which lost 2.96 percent and 2.19 percent respectively.

Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel gained 2.70 percent, becoming the top gainer. Personal-care company Beiersdorf and multinational chemical firm Linde advanced 1.23 percent and 1.05 percent respectively.

Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas was the most traded share with a turnover of 237.5 million euros (268.92 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
