SYDNEY, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The Aussie dollar reached its highest level since mid May against the greenback on Tuesday, ahead of a central bank meeting which could see interest rates cut.
At 07:00 (AEST), the Australian dollar was buying 69.77 U.S. cents, up from 69.33 U.S. cents on Monday.
The majority of analysts are expecting The Reserve Bank of Australia to cut the official interest rate from 1.5 percent to a record low, 1.25 percent when they meet later in the day.
At 09:30 (AEST), the local unit was buying 69.75 U.S. cents.
