Dollar pegged in lower 106 yen zone amid tariff moves

TOKYO, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar was pegged in the lower 106 yen zone in Tokyo on Monday as traders refrained from making bold moves in light of recent tariff moves.

The dollar was quoted at 106.25-27 yen at 5:00 p.m. compared with 106.21-31 yen in New York and 106.51-52 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.

During the day, it tracked between 105.94 yen and 106.28 yen, trading most often at the 106.16 yen mark.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.0981-0983 dollars and 116.67-71 yen against 1.0986-0996 dollars and 116.79-89 yen in New York and 1.1037-1038 dollars and 117.56-60 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
