New Zealand's first logistics industrial park serving the Belt and Road Initiative signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Certification & Inspection Group's local branch on Aug 14.
The two sides will work together to provide comprehensive services to logistics, trade and e-commerce enterprises, and conduct examination, authentication and testing of dairy products, meat, fruit and seafood.
The industrial park's first stage project, involving investment of 100 million yuan, consists of two parts: three refrigeration and constant heat storage facilities, together with a yet-to-be-built unmanned smart warehouse near Auckland airport, and a logistics park at Tauranga Port, the country's largest export port, in the Bay of Plenty.
Cooperating with CCIG can accelerate customs clearance efficiency in handling New Zealand's exports to its largest trade partner, China.
Zhang Fan, commercial counselor of the Chinese embassy in New Zealand, said the two countries are firm supporters of globalization, and their economic structures complement each other. It is hoped the strategic cooperation can promote bilateral trade.
