TOKYO, July 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper-108 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, rising from its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 108.60-61 yen compared with 108.45-55 yen in New York, and 108.05-06 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1250-1250 dollars and 122.18-19 yen against 1.1251-1261 dollars and 122.04-14 yen in New York, and 1.1277-1278 dollars and 121.85-89 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
