FRANKFURT, July 9 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 106.96 points, or 0.85 percent, to close at 12,436.55 points.
Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical lost 5.45 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by Deutsche Bank and pharmaceutical company Merck, which lost 4.17 percent and 4.06 percent respectively.
Housing association Vonovia gained 0.99 percent, becoming the top gainer. Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and energy group E.ON advanced 0.61 percent and 0.38 percent respectively.
Chemical group BASF was the most traded share with a turnover of 529.8 million euros (593.6 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
