TEHRAN, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Iran produced a total of 15.61 million tons of steel products during the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-July 22), Financial Tribune daily reported on Sunday.
According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association release, the figure shows an increase of eight percent compared to the same period last year, the report said.
Semi-finished steel made up 8.68 million tons of the total output. Billet and bloom made up 5.12 million tons while slab output hit 3.56 million tons of all semi-finished production.
As for the finished steel production, flat steel products had the lion's share with 3.58 million tons, and HRC (hot rolled coil) comprised 3.01 million tons of the production in this category, followed by CRC (cold rolled coil) and coated coil.
