PARIS, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Car manufacturers sold less vehicles in August in France after home-made brands' negative performance pulled down sales in the eurozone second main powerhouse, the country's car sales federation CCFA said Monday.
New car sales stood at 129,259 units last month compared to 150,390 vehicles provided in August last year, CCFA data showed.
Local auto makers offered 18 percent less cars last month with Renault group, France's second largest car manufacturer suffered 31.2 percent fall in sales over the period.
As to PSA Peugeot Citroen group, the country's leading auto maker, it offered 37,418 units in August, down by 4.9 percent from the same month in 2018.
Sales of foreign car brands suffered also 9.7 percent drop, it added.
