German shares edge down Friday

FRANKFURT, June 14 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 72.65 points, or 0.60 percent, to close at 12,096.40 points.

Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies lost 5.25 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and chemical group BASF, which lost 2.53 percent and 1.88 percent respectively.

Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel gained 1.07 percent, becoming the top gainer. Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical and multinational chemical firm Linde advanced 0.66 percent and 0.53 percent respectively.

BASF was the most traded share with a turnover of 233.7 million euros (263.2 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
