Iran is interested in the expansion of ties with India in the fields of Information Technology (IT) and communications, said Iranian Labor Minister Ali Rabiei, according to a report by semi-official Fars news agency on Thursday.

Rabiei made the remarks in a meeting with Indian Minister of Labor and Employment, Bandaru Dattatreya, on the sidelines of the recent International Labor Organization meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.

A draft memorandum of understanding has been prepared to be signed with India in near future, he said.

For his part, Dattatreya referred to common grounds for cooperation with Iran, saying that his country is ready to transfer its experiences in the fields of rural employment, IT and ICT to Iran.

On Wednesday, Iranian Communications and Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi said that his country's policy is based on boosting cooperation with the world in specialized areas.
