KABUL, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The militancy-plagued Afghanistan has exported medical equipments and hygiene products to Somalia, a local online media outlet reported Tuesday.

The first consignment of medical products, according to Wadsam, were three 30-ton containers with medical equipments, which had been sent to the insurgency-battered African nation.

"A total of 25 different kinds of medical equipments made by pharmaceutical companies in the western Herat province have been exported to Somalia for the first time," Hamidullah Khadim, head of Herat provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industries, was quoted as saying.
