Tokyo stocks rise in morning as spike in oil prices lifts energy stocks

TOKYO, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks bounced back Friday morning as energy-linked issues gained traction following a spike in crude oil prices.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 55.10 points, or 0.26 percent, from Thursday to 21,087.10.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 4.12 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,545.62.

Mining, oil and coal product, and nonferrous metal-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
