Dollar slips to upper 105 yen zone as market remains cautious amid trade issues

TOKYO, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar edged down into the upper 105 yen zone in Tokyo on Tuesday, amid investor consternation over current trade issues that led to increased volatility between the dollar-yen pairing a day earlier.

The dollar was quoted at 105.73-75 yen at 5 p.m., compared with 106.07-17 yen in New York and 105.73-75 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo.

During the day, it tracked between 105.60 yen and 106.15 yen, trading most often at the 105.84 yen mark.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1109-1110 dollars and 117.46-50 yen against 1.1094-1104 dollars and 117.74-84 yen in New York, and 1.1120-1124 dollars and 117.58-62 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
