TOKYO, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed marginally higher Wednesday as investors bought back issues oversold following a rout earlier this week, with domestic demand-linked issues finding favor amid continued global trade concerns.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 23.34 points, or 0.11 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 20,479.42.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 0.66 point, or 0.04 percent, to finish at 1,490.35.
Real estate, electric power and gas, and information and communication-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
