GUANGZHOU - China's white goods (including components) export reached a record high last year, according to a report issued by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products Thursday.

The report shows that white goods export recorded $75.1 billion in 2018, a year-on-year rise of 9.6 percent.

The export of large electrical goods used domestically such as refrigerators and washing machines continued to increase, and the export of small household appliances began to see growth last year.

European countries remained the strong buyers of China's white goods, accounting for around 45 percent of China's total export, said Shi Yonghe, vice-director of the chamber.

Shi added that more buyers in emerging markets such as the ASEAN countries also contributed to the growth.

Chinese white goods companies are expanding their global service network and enhance the protection of intellectual property rights to cope with the growing demand, said Shi.
