An international seminar on the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and dispute resolution was held on March 31 in Beijing.
The seminar, focusing on the UNIDROIT principles, international arbitration and judicial adjudication, attracted over 200 participants from colleges, government, bar associations, law firms and arbitral institutions.
The theme and forward motion of the conference was pragmatic, wrote Wan E'xiang, vice-chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, in a congratulatory letter.
He said in the letter that international laws play a not unimportant role in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
UNIDROIT Secretary-General José Angelo Estrella Faria said that China is an important influence in that organization, and emphasized that UNIDROIT is keen to spread its approach and accomplishments in China.
The seminar was co-hosted by UNIDROIT, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and the Law School of the University of International Business & Economics.
