China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 5.19 percent at 2,918.65 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 6.15 percent to end at 9,079.74 points at midday.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, fell 6.55 percent to 1,517.46 points.
