Iron ore futures close higher

DALIAN, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Iron ore futures closed higher on Tuesday at the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE).

The most active iron ore contract for May delivery gained 1.5 yuan (about 0.22 U.S. dollars) to close at 636 yuan per tonne.

On Tuesday, DCE recorded a total of 2,393,832 transactions of 10 listed iron ore futures contracts, with a turnover of 149.94 billion yuan.

As the world's largest importer of iron ore, China opened the DCE iron ore futures to international investors in May 2018.
