BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- More college students are regarding agriculture-related start-up projects as a gateway to achieve dreams, showed a recent survey by the China Youth Daily.
Of the 57 college entrepreneurs surveyed, 52.6 percent of respondents said they started agriculture projects for achieving their dreams, followed by 49.1 percents of the respondents hoping to help solve problems in rural areas.
Over 77 percent of the respondents have a bachelor degree or above, and 93 percent of the interviewees believed that agriculture-related entrepreneurship had brought changes to rural areas.
However, financial problems have been a big obstacle. The survey showed that 73.7 percent of respondents regarded insufficient funds and difficulties in raising funds or obtaining bank loans as major problems in starting a business. More than 60 percent of the respondents hoped to get more financial loans.
Nearly 72 percent of the respondents who had failed in agricultural start-ups said that they will continue devoting themselves to projects related to the development of agriculture and rural areas.
By the end of 2018, China has seen 7.8 million people going to or returning to rural areas to start businesses, according to an official report released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
